Etiquette for Using the Computers in SC A102 During Class
(Last modified:

The computers are in SC A102 to provide you, and other students, with a wonderful learning environment. They are arranged they way they are for maximum flexibility in a limited amount of space.
However, the arrangement also brings with it the temptation to use the machine for non-class-related activities during class.
Resist the temptation!
Here are some rules of etiquette:
- When you first sit down at the table, move the keyboard to the side, so that you will not be tempted (and, of course, so that you have more room). When you need to use the machines, it's easy enough to move the keyboard back.
- The computers are to be used during class time only for course-related activities-even if you've finished the group work. No e-mail, no web-cruising, no games!
- Absolutely no food or drink in the room! This includes, sadly, coffee, and even water. You should leave any cup outside the room. This is to protect the equipment.
"Unauthorized" computer use is as distracting to other students, and to me, as talking is. For the greater good,
I will ask you to leave
if I find you using the computer for anything other than class activities.
