Etiquette for Using the Computers in a Computer Equipped Classroom During Class

    (Last modified: Monday, January 16, 2012, 3:37 PM )

The computers in any computer equipped classroom are there to enhance your learning environment. They are arranged they way they are for maximum flexibility in a limited amount of space. However, when a student uses a computer inappropriately, they can detract not only from his or her own learning but from that of everybody else in the room
    Resist the temptation!
Here are some rules of etiquette:

    • Refrain from using a computer except during times designated by your instructor. (If you have accommodations that encourage taking notes on a computer, make sure your instructor knows.)
    • Even during the designated usage times, you should only be using a computer for course-related activities ... even if you've finished the work. No e-mail, no web-cruising, no games!

    • When you are in a room with laptops, there should be no food or drink out in the room when the computers are out! When you are in a room with computers that are fixed in place, unfortunately, there should never be any food or drink.
